
Our Tools
These tools were designed to provide work directions to raise awareness among students, teachers and professional musicians of the role of women in music.
They are divided into two areas: "masterful" tools aimed at sharing knowledge, and practical exercises to engage students and professors in collaborative reflection.

Spread knowledge
Awareness concert
Various concerts were organized focusing on the composers from each partner country. Students and teachers have engaged in the search for scores by women composers. They have also sometimes performed contemporary creations. Here, you will find the videos from the concerts performed by the project's musicians along with the programs. There is also a link to the “Demandez à Clara” website: an interactive research platform for works composed by women.
Round Tables
Several roundtable discussions were organized with the presence of women composers, as a way to make them more visible and to share their stories and experiences. However, a roundtable was organised in Portugal, bringing together composers who had studied under women composers.
Conferences
Throughout the history of music, many talented and influential women composers who have made significant contributions to various genres and styles of music in Europe. Despite facing challenges due to their gender, they have left a lasting impact on the world of traditional, classical, contemporary and electroacoustic music. Here are teaching materials used in Cyprus, Portugal, Greece and France in order to share historical contexts on those contributions.
Exhibitions
Throughout the project, partners organized exhibitions highlighting the work of women composers. The aim being to give them broader visibility in the public sphere.
"Féminiconférence"
This is an interactive conference focusing on the place of women in music. Hosted by Nathalie Négro, pianist and artistic director of PIANO AND CO, the talk is based on her personal experience. The talk is illustrated by anecdotes from throughout the history of music, and is punctuated by listening to works, photos…
Building together
Debate
Debate workshops were organized in each workshop, involving students and teachers in the reflection.
Several topics were discussed: gender inequalities in music, ways to promote women composers, quotas in programming…
Female Composers Collaborative Questionnaire
A questionnaire, designed by the European musicians and teachers, aims to gather insights into experiences, challenges, and perspectives as a woman composer. The data collected provided a precious resource to foster inclusivity and empowerment when meeting with music field institutions.
Collaborative Podcasts
The students made podcasts with various female composers to hear their stories, their experiences, their different visions of the profession and their way of composing.
Women Composers interviews
Interviewing women composers is a source of inspiration for musicians. Hearing the stories and insights of women composers like Graziane Finzi can motivate young women composers to pursue their own creative aspirations.
Co-creation challenge
The "Co-Creation Challenge" tool encourages student participation to tackle gender equality challenges in music through practical exercises. For example : street interviews, music history books analyses…
Awareness concert
All concerts performed by Musical Bounce Back musicians featured compositions by contemporary women composers, providing a platform for them to showcase their work. Check out orchestra’s live performances in public venues in France and Greece.

Documentary
Musique Maestra! is a 60mn documentary produced by La Huit, 529 Dragons.
Are classical music, opera and contemporary music made by men only? Of course not! In Marseille and elsewhere three women from different generations - Nathalie Négro, a recognized pianist, Eve Risser, a 40 years old composer, and Elise Mouchoux a music student - have made their way in today's fast-changing musical world. As part of Musical Bounce Back project, those three women will share their tone of a revolution in progress.
